Staff

Tabitha Matthews is proud to serve Project Broadway as Administrative Director. Tabitha received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts at Columbia College Chicago with an acting concentration in theater.  After college she performed professionally with a variety of nationally acclaimed theater companies in the Chicago including M’PAACT, Congo Square and ETA Creative Arts Foundation.

Tabitha has over 15 years of leadership experience in community youth arts and engagement. Her commitment to making the arts accessible and belief in the impact of theater on marginalized populations has allowed her to work with many organizations such as Changing Worlds, StoryCatchersTheater (formerly know as Music Theater Workshop), Young Chicago Authors,Youth Drama Workshop at the Goodman Theater and Street Level Youth Media in Chicago. She also served as a Board Member of Jabez Ministries Inc., an organization for under-served and under-resourced youth. Additionally, she has worked for the Center for Community Arts Partnerships (CCAP) at Columbia College Chicago as Program Manager, facilitating over 30 partnerships with youth art based organizations throughout the Chicagoland area and at Trinity Christian College as the Director of Community Engagement and Diversity Programs.

Outside of her position as an arts administrator, she enjoys her role as Artistic Director for Good Light Productions in Bronx, NY. Tabitha recently directed it’s inaugural production of Carolyn Harrison’s “Precious Metals: Beauty in Brokenness” in the 2018 New York Summer Fest.

She considers it a privilege and an honor to join the Project Broadway team. She currently resides in New Rochelle, New York with her wonderful husband and three boys.
